Great Gatsby - 1920's

One of our very most amazing events to date. A perfect fusion of Party Doctors ability to create a wonderful event completely in house, whilst listening to and incorporating design input by our wonderful clients.

The theme was Great Gatsby, focusing more on the era than the film and was unlike any other we have ever created before.

There were many different areas of the event, each leading the guests through from one delight to another:

Great Hall; On arrival guests were first greeted by two hosts in full 1920’s attire and shown in to the Great Hall, where they enjoyed champagne from a large custom made fountain.

Reception/VIP marquee; This area was dressed half in ivory and half clear to see the night sky, giving a very dramatic effect. The ivory was dressed using a fairylight canopy, whilst the clear section had diamond chandeliers. An array of selected drinks & wines were served from the custom front VIP bar, by barmen dressed in white Tuxedos. We also had various props in this area to compliment the feel of the room and used chipped ice from an Ice Block, as used in the 20's and still today in many 5 star establishments around the world, keeping authenticity of the theme to the maximum. Music during the reception was provided by a swing/jazz trio.

Dining Marquee; Guests were led down a ruffled canopy archway from the Reception/VIP marquee down to the dining marquee to be seated. The marquee roof and two sides were completely clear in order to make the props, decor and theming standard out, once more giving a very dramatic effect. Lighting was in the form of coloured uplighters and six wonderfully large diamond chandeliers, which echoed those in the previous marquee. The overall effect was one of the pure elegance of the 1920’s.

Dancing; Once the delicious 4 course meal had been served we lifted a curtain that revealed a Charleston dance act in the dancing area that had been added to the adjacent end of the marquee and hidden until its dramatic unveiling. Once the dancers had shown the guests the fantastic dance moves of the 20’s the amazing act invited guests to join them on the dance floor, just in time for the main seven piece swing band to start their set. For guests who wished not to dance or just wanted to take a breather from the dance moves a waitress offering Cigars and Cigarettes was waiting in the main marquee bar, where they could relax with drinks from the custom front bar.

Also onsite were our brand new toilet facilities hired in from our sister company '999 Event Services'.
